Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun.Saturn is smaller then jupiter.Secnd largest planet in the solar system.Appears to be made mostly of molecular hydrogen and helium. One of the five naked eye planets known to the ancients. Saturn is named for the roman god of agriculture. Also linked to kronos, greek god of time. Father of jupiter and king of the gods. Yellowish color at times the third brightest planet in night sky.Saturn was the most distant of the five planets known to the ancients. In 1610, Italian astronomer Galileo Galilei was the first to gaze at Saturn through a telescope. To his surprise, he saw a pair of objects on either side of the planet. He sketched them as separate spheres and wrote that Saturn appeared to be triple-bodied. Continuing his observations over the next few years, Galileo drew the lateral bodies as arms or handles attached to Saturn. In 1659, Dutch astronomer Christiaan Huygens, using a more powerful telescope than Galileo's, proposed that Saturn was surrounded by a thin, flat ring. In 1675, Italian-born astronomer Jean-Dominique Cassini discovered a 'division' between what are now called the A and B rings. It is now known that the gravitational influence of Saturn's moon Mimas is responsible for the Cassini Division, which is 4,800 kilometers (3,000 miles) wide.Saturn is a gas giant. It is surrounded by a solid ring. Inside the saturn is deeper than the outer. The gas giant has no solid surface to walk on and no walk on and no seas to put a boat on.The planet has a lot of moons. There were voyagers. The argest moon is the Titan.Has a thick atmosphere of swirling clouds caused by strong winds.Saturn is surrounded by hundreds of rings, made up of pieces of ice , rocks and dust. It is all the rings that make Saturn look so beautiful. Some scientists believe that the rings are made up of materials left over from when Saturn became a planet. Others think the rings are pieces of one of Saturn's moons that was torn apart. Saturn is named after the Roman god Saturn (father of Zeus).
Due to its brightness, Saturn is visible about 30 minutes before sunrise or after sunset. Saturn is located in the constellation Leo until very early September 2009. Saturn is at opposition around mid March, so the best time to observe Saturn is between January and May.It's so a tollay alien word.
