Physics of Rollercoasters:

Roller coasters use all sorts of energy they use potential energy on the climb up the hill on the rollercoaster. They also use gravitation, free fall, and velocity on the way down the hill and onto the next. They use projectional motion for when the rollercoaster goes down a small roller coaster. The next thing is acceleration which is used when a roller coaster is designed to go upside down. When the roller coaster is designed to go up a loop they use friction and also magnetic inside the coaster tracks. acceleration stress is when a sudden increase of speed.external image dragster.jpg

This roller coaster (right) can sky rocket up to 120 mi. per hour. It can fly 400 ft tall which makes a roller coaster record. The top thrill dragster is located in Sandusky, OH at Cedar Pointe.
